Paramount Skydance Plans to Cut Around 2,000 United States Roles – News
Skydance Paramount plans to initiate mass layoffs the week of 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 American roles as part of a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under top executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction come after the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August valued at $8.4bn.
More international job cuts are expected, with Paramount Skydance planning to announce complete information in its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.
Prior news suggested the company aimed to reduce from 2,000 to 3,000 positions before the start of November.
As of December 2024, the organization employed about 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 project-based staff.
The company has not yet commented on the matter.
